Scope

WADA (World Anti-Doping Agency) has encouraged the establishment of APMUs (Athlete Passport Management Units) for administering and managing elements of the Athlete Biological Passport programs (ABP). The primary role of the APMU manager is to provide assistance in the management of the passport programs run by the different NNADOs who are part of the NAPMU. In addition the manager shall assist the NNADOs in their test planning to ensure high quality, updated and scientifically based test programs. The manager will report to the Nordic APMU Steering Group. The Manager shall also be secretary for the Steering Group, and as such prepare budgets, plans and reports as decided by the Steering Group.

Tasks

* Updating of passports after the laboratories have reported the test results
* Initial reviewing of the profiles and discussing the results with the NNADOs, the laboratory and when needed with members of the Nordic Expert Panel (NEP)
* Responsible for the compilation of document packages from the lab(s) for potential abnormal profiles
* Interpretation of biological profiles and assisting NNADOs on follow up tests and target test planning for athletes who are part of the ABP program
* Facilitating the contact between the NADO and NEP regarding Anti-Doping Rule Violations (ADRVs) connected to the ABP program, as described in the ABP Guidelines
* Give the NNADOs general advice for target testing based upon whereabouts, doping trends, scientific development, etc.
* Participate in development projects

Required Qualifications

* Master degree and or PhD within life sciences (physiology, hematology, chemistry, molecular biology, medicine)
* Knowledge of and interest in sports in general
* Proficiency in MS programs (word, excel, outlook, etc.)

Desired Qualifications
* Knowledge of and interest in sports science in general and performance enhancing substances in particular
* Experience from anti-doping work in general
* Experience from anti-doping analysis
* Experience from hematology
* Knowledge of testing procedures
* Knowledge of the biological passport in general

Skills

* Ability to work independently and to take responsibility to develop knowledge and competence within the acquired field
* Ability to work with various levels of management in a fast paced work environment
* Ability to multitask and to work accurately under pressure
* Excellent organizational skills and attention to details
* Good oral and written communication skills in English

Anti-Doping Norway (ADN), Anti-Doping Denmark (ADD), Finnish Antidoping Agency (FINADA) and Swedish Sports Confederation (RF) are non-profit Nordic National Anti-Doping Organizations (NNADOs) responsible for their respective countries´ operational anti-doping programs. The Norwegian Doping Control Laboratory is a WADA-accredited laboratory conducting doping analysis primarily for Anti-Doping Norway and Anti Doping Denmark, as well as international federations and WADA. The five parties have established a Nordic Athlete Passport Management Unit (NAPMU) and are now announcing the new position as a manager for this unit. The unit will be situated in Oslo.
