Senior Chemist - Analytical Laboratory

Jotun is currently experiencing high growth and will strengthen the R&D organisation with one Senior Chemist in the Analytical Laboratory. The Analytical Laboratory plays an important role in the development of paint systems to protect metal structures, to prevent biofouling on ships and systems within the decorative segment. The Analytical Laboratory collaborates with the regional laboratories within Jotun on a worldwide basis.

The main responsibilities for the new chemist will be analysis and characterization of products and paint related samples using various analytical techniques. Other important tasks are method development and documentation in co-operation with other research staff as well as offering support to Jotuns Technical Service organisation.

We are looking for an experienced Chemist within the field of Analytical Chemistry with a creative personality and strong multi-disciplinary interests. Candidates with background in Synthetic chemistry and experience in instrumental analyses, as well as less experienced candidates, may also be considered for the position.

Tasks

• Analysis of products and paint related samples including development and documentation of analytical methods in co-operation with other research staff
• Instrument maintenance and responsibility
• Support for Jotuns Technical Service organisation
• Quality control

Qualifications

• Master degree in analytical or synthetic chemistry or equivalent (candidates with extensive experience and a lower degree of education may also be considered)
• 3-5 years of experience (candidates with less experience may be considered for the position)
