The technical oil analysis department is Statoil's competence centre on downstream challenges for different crude oil qualities, crude oil valuation and value adjustment procedures.
The department has nine employees with varied technical background and experience, and is looking for a technical oil analyst to join the team.
Tasks
- Provide high quality technical oil analytical support to various upstream projects/trading
- Refinery evaluation worldwide for crude oil quality and value assessments
- Technical evaluation of crude oil quality deviation and claim follow-up for the trading department
- Support to marketing in preparation for new crude and condensate production
- Assess crude oil quality prognoses
- Responsible for keeping crude oil assays up to date
- Contribute to the development of models, systems and methodologies
- Assess future prices for all Statoil crude oil qualities in production
- Be the contact point between upstream (crude oil production) and downstream (refineries and oil sales) departments
Qualifications
- Relevant university degree(s) at Master level or above within chemistry / chemical engineering fields is required
- Ideally, you have a couple of years of experience from the petroleum industry, however this is not a prerequisite for the job
