Funcom is looking for an experienced, enthusiastic and self-motivated individual to become Assistant Producer on 'The Secret World' team.

The Assistant Producer will manage a team of artists and designers responsible for delivering an important segment of the game related to the new player experience.

Through their role, the Assistant Producer is responsible for meeting quality, budget and performance targets, and managing priorities in order to deliver a competitive end product. Responsibilities include scheduling and budgeting, task and people management, providing feedback on quality and gameplay, and taking control of the design, development and implementation process from concept through to finished product. As part of the team management group, the Assistant Producer answers directly to the producer, and works closely with the lead designer, lead content designer and project managers in the team.

Primary responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage a team of designers and artists to deliver a section of the game from concept stage to launch
  • Review and evaluate progress and content, and provide feedback and suggestions to the team
  • Facilitate and drive team communication at all levels
  • Maintain project management documents, including status reports and project plans

 Secondary responsibilities:

  • Participate in the team management group and contribute to creative and production related decisions for the entire project
  • Present and sell the game, both internally and externally
  • Submit progress and quality reports to senior company management

 Required skills:

  • Solid, recent and extensive experience as an Assistant Producer for an AAA product (or similar role) in the games industry
  • Solid experience of managing teams using agile development
  • Comprehensive proven knowledge of the process of making a top quality RPG, including art, programming and design pipelines
  • Professional communication skills and a proven natural ability to motivate others
  • Fluent written and spoken English
  • Proven exceptional organizational and scheduling skills
  • Shown excellent attention to detail and an ability to complete tasks on time
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel
  • Experience working in a large team and communicating with designers, artists, programmers, PR/marketing and QA
  • A willingness to provide, receive and respond to feedback
  • Shown ability to exercise good independent judgment and discretion, and an eagerness to learn and adapt to new working methods
  • Broad knowledge and understanding of major current and past MMORPGs
  • Relocate to Oslo

 Complementary skills:

  • Hands-on experience with game design, gameplay scripting, modelling and  game editor. 
  • Extensive PC and console play experience, specifically RPGs
  • An interest in mythology, ancient history and contemporary fantasy
