Lead Developer for iOS
About our product Nearly 40% of all visits to FINN.no from a mobile phone come from our native apps and around half of these are from iPhones. Weekly there are well over 400 000 people using our iOS app and they spend on average one hour in the app every week. If you think it's exciting to create something which everyone in Norway relates to and help people to buy and sell goods, cars, boats, houses and apartments you should continue reading. About working here We released our first iOS app in 2011 and our first Android app in 2012. Right from the start, our strategy has been to build our apps ourselves in a team dedicated to native app development. As our apps have grown and increased their traffic we are in the process of scaling our app development beyond a single team. Some app developers are now joining our full stack development teams to make new functionality shine on all platforms. Developers are given a lot of freedom and responsibility for how our app works. FINN.no has 130 developers working on web, micro services, messaging systems, machine learning and recommendations. About the FINN iOS app Our iOS app uses view controller containment, transitions with custom animations, CoreData, YapDatabase, CoreSpotlight, Universal Links, Handoff, custom UICollectionViewLayouts and UI components based on server side view models when we need to change content quickly and often. New features are written in Swift and we strive to keep up to date with the newest SDK version, but there are also parts of our app that we're not happy with and needs rewriting soon. About the role As a Lead Developer (we call this role a Technical Domain Expert at FINN) you are responsible for making and following up on technical decisions and the architecture of our iOS app and you are responsible for the overall code quality and stability.
