Scientist/Senior Scientist Biotechnology Department, API R&D

We are looking for a Scientist/Senior Scientist to join the Biotechnology department in our R&D facilities in Oslo.

Biotechnology department is responsible for developing processes for new and existing Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients (API).

You are going to work in an international R&D community organized in both line-functional work and cross-functional project teams. The Biotechnology department has 29 employees organized in three units, with 19 located in Oslo, 6 located in Budapest and 4 located in Copenhagen.

The main responsibilities are:

• Plan and perform experiments in order to develop purification processes for new and existing API’s; both fermentation based and semi-synthetic API’s
• Document the experimental work in journals and summarize the results in development reports and technical transfer documentation
• Participate in tech transfer and possibly be responsible for tech transfer of identified parts of a process
• Promote cross-functional collaboration by actively exchange results and experiences from development work
• Promote creativity and innovation to improve on results and timelines
• Motivate and encourage group members

Profile and skills:

• You have a PhD/MSc in chemical engineering, industrial chemistry, biotechnology, biochemistry or similar.
• You have an excellent theoretical and practical knowledge in purification technologies; like chromatography, crystallization, filtration, drying etc.
• You have experience from purification/bioprocess development work, pilot plant work or production of biologicals/antibiotics in the pharmaceutical/fine chemical industry, but newly educated candidates may also be of interest
• You enjoy working in the laboratory
• You are enthusiastic and highly motivated about your work
• You have excellent collaboration skills
• You share information openly with colleagues
• You are fluent written and verbally in English and preferably Norwegian/Scandinavian
