Associate professor in Design

Department of product design has available a part time temporary position as associate professor in design with focus on eco design.

The Department of Product Design is in rapid development and we need to strengthen the faculty in the field of eco design. One of our faculty is currently on leave and we are looking for a temporary replacement. We are seeking an associate professor in a 20 - 40% temporary position until 31.07.2019 with the possibility of an extension. The place of work is Campus Kjeller.

We are looking for a candidate who will make an active contribution to strengthening the academic and research work at the department.

Tasks and responsibilities

• Teaching and supervision of students primarily at master’s and PhD degree level.
• Conducting research and development work within the topic of eco design.
• Contribute to proposal development.
• Some administrative tasks should be expected.

Qualifications

• A PhD in design with focus on eco design and sustainability.
• Experience as a commercial designer.
• Experience in teaching and supervision at university college/university level.
• Fluency in English is expected. Fluency in a Scandinavian language is an advantage.

Candidates who have no relevant qualifications in pedagogy at the time of appointment must commit themselves to complete HiOA’s programme for basic pedagogical competence (15 ECTS credits) within the first year.

The university college may test pedagogical skills in connection with a personal interview.

Remuneration The salary for the position is in accordance with the pay for state employees: job code 1011 Associate professor, NOK 512.700 – 650.200. A higher salary may be considered for particularly well-qualified applicants.
